Leche Flan Recipe
Leche flan has been enjoyed by Filipinos for hundreds of years. It is served as a dessert and sometimes enjoyed with coffee or tea.
Ingredients:
- 5 eggs
- 3 tbsp. white sugar
- 3/4 cup condensed milk
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Procedure:
- Separate the yolks from the egg white.
- Make a custardt mixture by mixing the egg yolks , condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
- Mix thoroughly using a wire whisk.
- Set the mixture aside.
- Pour sugar on a mould (llanera).
- Place the mold on a dry frying pan and heat on a stove allowing the sugar to melt and turn light brown in color.
- Remove the mold from the stove and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
- Pour the previously prepared custard mixture in the mould.
- Cover the mold.
- Steam for 40 minutes.
- Let the custard cool for ten minutes wit the lid removed.
- Refrigerate.
- Serve and enjoy!
