Leche Flan Recipe

Leche flan has been enjoyed by Filipinos for hundreds of years. It is served as a dessert  and sometimes enjoyed with coffee or tea.



Ingredients:
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 tbsp. white sugar
  • 3/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract



Procedure:
  1. Separate the yolks from the egg white.
  2. Make a custardt mixture by mixing the egg yolks , condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  3. Mix thoroughly using a wire whisk.
  4. Set the mixture aside.
  5. Pour sugar on a mould (llanera).
  6. Place the mold on a dry frying pan and heat on a stove allowing the sugar to melt and turn light brown in color.
  7. Remove the mold from the stove and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Pour the previously prepared custard mixture in the mould.
  9. Cover the mold.
  10. Steam for 40 minutes.
  11. Let the custard cool for ten minutes wit the lid removed.
  12. Refrigerate.
  13. Serve and enjoy!
